The type of personal information we collect
We currently collect and process the following information:
Personal identifiers, contacts and characteristics (for example, name and contact details)
For donations and product sales we’ll collect your name, email address and postal address.
For allocation of funding to equality solutions we’ll collect unique website page views.
For submissions to the EducatED Hub we collect your name and email but do not publish your information. If a submitter wishes to use a pseudonym, to keep their identity anonymous, with an article this is also an option.
How we get the personal information and why we have it
Most of the personal information we process is provided to us directly by you for one of the following reasons:
To process your donations, to fulfil retail orders, to accept articles to be published on our website and to process votes for equality solutions.
We also receive personal information indirectly, from the following sources in the following scenarios:
Square Space INC which is the platform which our website is built (please visit their sites for their privacy policy).
Printify our print on demand service for our retail products (please visit their sites for their privacy policy).
Stripe our donations processing company (please visit their sites for their privacy policy).
We use the information that you have given us in order to To process your donations, to fulfil retail orders, to accept articles to be published on our website and to process votes for equality solutions.
Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the lawful bases we rely on for processing this information are:
(a) Your consent. You are able to remove your consent at any time. You can do this by contacting WeAreAll@EqualDignity.org.uk
(b) We have a contractual obligation.
(c) We have a legitimate interest.
How we store your personal information
Your information is securely stored.
We keep your name, email address or postal address for as long as needed to process your information with us. We will then dispose your information:
When your retail order has been with you for 30 days. 30 days is our returns policy. 30 days gives consumers the opportunity to receive, examine and use the item purchased or return it to Equal Dignity or our Print on Demand service Printify.
After 3 years of a submission of an equality solution. This is part of our governance so that we may follow up with submitters if they are awarded funding. Submitters who do not get funding will have the opportunity to take their application down from our website and deleted from our records on request by emailing WeAreAll@EqualDignity.org.uk.
Website statistics after 12 months. Website statistics are gathered to determine where the public wants funding to go.
After 3 years when submitting an article to the EducatED Hub. If we need this information for longer we will seek reconsent.
After 3 years for donation information. This enables us to continue our work and maintain a relationship with donors but also back claim Gift Aid.
After 3 years for allies who sign up to the Equal Dignity newsletter. After which we will collect your reconsent.
Your data protection rights
Under data protection law, you have rights including:
Your right of access - You have the right to ask us for copies of your personal information.
Your right to rectification - You have the right to ask us to rectify personal information you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask us to complete information you think is incomplete.
Your right to erasure - You have the right to ask us to erase your personal information in certain circumstances.
Your right to restriction of processing - You have the right to ask us to restrict the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.
Your right to object to processing - You have the the right to object to the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.
Your right to data portability - You have the right to ask that we transfer the personal information you gave us to another organisation, or to you, in certain circumstances.
You are not required to pay any charge for exercising your rights. If you make a request, we have one month to respond to you.
